Skint sign brighton band 'Mirrors'

Skint records -

We are proud to announce the signing of our fellow Brightonian band 'Mirrors' to a long term recording and publishing deal.

We're always on the look out for great new acts and Mirrors really impressed us as the highlight of The Great Escape festival last year. After meeting with them we came to realise that we shared a similar vision and we are really excited to help them fulfil that vision.

Having released two singles, ‘Look At Me’ through Pure Groove and ‘Into The Heart’ through Moshi Moshi in the latter half of 2009, we look forward to March 2010 where we will be releasing an EP featuring remixes of their tracks ‘Look At Me’, ‘Somewhere Strange’, ‘Into The Heart’ and ‘Lights and Offerings’. So far confirmed is up and coming Detroit prodigy Kyle Hall, often compared to the likes of Carl Craig and Moodyman, who will remix ‘Somewhere Strange’.

Mirrors are currently on their UK tour with Delphic which have a few remaining dates left. These are shown below, so try and get yourself down to see Mirrors fly through 2010.

19th Brighton @ Audio

20th Wolverhampton @ Little Civic

21st Liverpool @ Kazimier

22nd Glasgow @ King Tuts

23rd Leeds @ Cockpit 2

Also check out their myspace for any news, releases and up coming gigs.

Skint Records artists takeover Brighton's clubland / Ticket competition.

Skint records -

Saturday the 30th of January sees Skint Records artists takeover Brighton clubland with 2 separate events at different venues in the city.

First up Kidda will be marking the launch of his new remixed album 'Go Up To Get Down' with a launch party at Audio's Summer of Love night, it's free entry and runs from 11pm till 4am, supporting Kidda' s headline DJ set is local boy David Parr. Audio's Summer of Love sessions are always rammed to the rafters and Kidda's bass heavy fidget sounds are sure to get the party started.

Hear Kidda's December DJ mix here:- http://www.sendspace.com/file/ehy543

Further along the seafront under the arches @ Coalition house heavyweights X-Press 2 & Tim Deluxe will be showing why they are some of the most well respected Djs on the circuit today with their blend of house, techno, minimal, and all points in between. X-Press 2 will be previewing their new single 'Time' which features James Yuill on vocals, whilst Tim Deluxe we'll be playing some exclusives hot out of his studio.

We have 2 pairs of tickets to giveaway for the X-Press 2 & Tim Deluxe show (remember Kidda's party is free entry), to win the tickets just answer the question "Name the vocalist X-Press 2 collaborated with on their chart hitting single 'Lazy'?" to go into the prize draw.

You can answer the question in the competitions page within www.skint.net.

Competition closes on Wednesday the 27th of January @ 5pm GMT and winners will be notified by 5pm GMT on Thursday the 28th of January. Please note admission to both nights is for over 21's only and the venues retain right of admission, so Skint cannot be responsible for guaranteed entry.Travel to and from the venue is at the winners own expense and risk.
